So, I’ve recently swapped the city skyline for starlit nights in the country, and guess what? I found something rarer than a downtown parking spot – a charming country guy! Let’s call him “The Country Boy.”
1. Tractor Dates are the New Limo Rides
Who knew a John Deere could be so romantic? Forget limos; The Country Boy took me on a sunset ride in his tractor. It was like ‘The Notebook,’ but with more diesel fumes and less Ryan Gosling.
2. Cowboy Boots > Designer Heels
I traded my Louboutins for cowboy boots. At first, I missed the click-clack of heels on pavement, but now I’m all about that country stomp. Plus, these boots are surprisingly good at squashing… things (let’s not get into details).
3. Learning the Lingo
I thought I was fluent in English until I met The Country Boy. Apparently, “fixin’ to” is a legit phrase, and “y’all” is a necessary addition to my vocabulary. Who knew? And I love it.
4. Starry Nights and No Wi-Fi
Out here, ‘Netflix and chill’ has a whole new meaning. It’s more like ‘stargaze and chill.’ And guess what? The stars are the original influencers, and they don’t need Wi-Fi to shine.
5. The Great Outdoors
I used to think hiking was walking from my high-rise to the nearest Starbucks. Now, The Country Boy’s got me wandering through fields and forests. I’m still not sure what poison ivy looks like, but I’m hoping my city luck holds up.
6. Farm-to-Table: Literally
The Country Boy introduced me to his chickens. I thought we were just saying hi, but it turns out we were picking dinner. Farm-to-table here is not a trendy restaurant concept; it’s just… dinner. And it is delicious.
7. The Simple Things
I’ve learned to appreciate the simple things, like how quiet it is (until the roosters start), and how you can actually see the horizon without skyscrapers blocking the view.
So, there you have it, folks. City girl falls for The Country Boy, and it’s as wonderfully weird and whimsical as it sounds. Stay tuned for more adventures from the countryside!

What's the city girl's favourite thing about her country boyfriend's farm?
